Who needs it

  • Most foreign nationals need a visa for business in Cambodia.
  • ASEAN citizens get visa-free short tourism entry but often still need Type E for formal work or long-term business.
  • Citizens of the US, UK, Canada and EU states can apply online.
  • The tourist eVisa (Type T) cannot be converted into a business extension.
  • Working legally also needs a separate work permit.
Entry points: Airports: Phnom Penh (PNH), Siem Reap (SAI), Sihanoukville (KOS). Land: Bavet, Poipet, Cham Yeam, Tropaeng Kreal. Not accepted at all remote crossings.

2Requirements

  • PassportValid at least 6 months from the arrival date
  • Passport photo
  • Invitation or guaranteeInvitation letter from a Cambodian company, or a validation certificate from the Cambodia Data Exchange (CamDX)
  • Email addressA valid address
Photo and scans: Passport photo.
Validity: Valid 3 months from issue (entry within 90 days), single entry, stay up to 30 days per entry. Extensions of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months are available at the Department of Immigration; 6- and 12-month extensions typically allow multiple entries.

Important to know

  • Main denial cause is missing host company information; others are blurry photos, data mismatches such as passport number typos, and insufficient business documentation.
  • Do not assume entry is allowed at remote land crossings.
  • Overstaying costs about 10 USD per day; long overstays can lead to detention, deportation and an entry ban.
  • The Cambodia e-Arrival card is mandatory for air arrivals, within 7 days before arrival.
