1Overview

The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is a mandatory digital declaration for foreign travellers, run by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. It is not a visa.

It records your arrival but does not grant entry or set your stay length; immigration decides that at the counter. A valid card is a precondition for using the autogates.

Who needs it

  • Needed by almost all foreign visitors, including those from visa-exempt countries such as the US, UK, Australia and EU nations; each traveller, including infants, needs their own.
  • Exempt: Singapore citizens; diplomatic and official passport holders; Malaysian permanent residents and Long Term Pass holders; Brunei GBC holders; Thailand Border Pass holders; Indonesia Cross Border Travel Document holders.
  • If your nationality needs a visa, you still need one in addition to the MDAC.
Entry points: Air, land and sea entry all use the same form.
