1Overview
The Pakistan eVisa is an online visa required for most visitors, removing the need to visit an embassy in person. It covers tourism and family visits, business activities such as meetings and conferences, and Sikh pilgrimages.
It does not permit paid employment, missionary work or journalism, which need a specific category visa.
Who needs it
- Needed by most visitors; no exemptions or visa-free groups are listed.
- Business travellers from countries on the Business Visa List may qualify for an ETA, often processed within 24 hours; most business applicants need an invitation letter from the inviting Pakistani company via the Pakistan E-Business Invitation Letter System.
- Requirements may vary by nationality.
- Minors need their own eVisa; parents can apply for them.

Important to know
- The main rejection reasons are incomplete documents and security concerns; small errors can lead to rejection.
- Restricted areas (for example Azad Kashmir) need a No Objection Certificate from the Ministry of Interior, obtained after arrival.
- The NOC can take 4 to 6 weeks, is often denied to solo tourists and usually must go through a registered tour operator.
