1Overview
The Kenya eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a mandatory digital entry requirement for foreign visitors, including infants and children. It replaced the earlier Kenya eVisa.
It is linked to the passport and must be obtained before boarding. It covers tourism, business meetings, family visits, transit, medical treatment, conferences and employment-related travel.
Who needs it
- Almost all foreign nationals need it, including those previously visa-exempt; each traveler needs their own.
- Passengers who stay on the same aircraft or transfer without leaving airport precincts are exempt; anyone who must clear immigration needs a separate Transit ETA.
