1Overview
The Bahrain Tourist eVisa is a digital entry authorisation applied for fully online, with no embassy visit. It covers tourism, visiting family or friends and attending business meetings.
It cannot be converted online into another visa type or residency, and holders cannot take up employment in Bahrain.
Who needs it
- Most international travellers need a visa; citizens of the GCC states (Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE) enter visa-free.
- The eVisa is open to citizens of roughly 100 to 120 countries; other nationalities need a guarantor (airline, hotel, Bahraini travel agent, company or citizen) to apply for them, or a sticker visa from an embassy.
- Every traveller, including infants and children, needs their own passport and visa; a child endorsed in a parent's passport is not accepted.
